We, Alkimos Surf Life Saving Club, would like to acknowledge the Whadjuk Noongar People, the Traditional Custodians of the land which we gather. We would like to pay our respects to their Elders past, present and future. We extend that respect to recognise their spiritual and cultural connection to the land of Alkimos.

Having two teenagers suddenly want to hang out at the beach on their own with friends made us very nervous and realise the importance of teaching them beach safety. So we decided to go ahead and enrol them into surf life saving, actually our daughter joined first and when her brother seen how much she enjoyed it he decided to go too. What they got from the club was so much more than we imagined. We have honestly never seen them so enthusiastic over anything, they have both learned so much not just on the beach but things like first aid which are so important. They both love to patrol, love the Independence and can’t wait to progress. We love that our teenagers are out there keeping fit, having fun and learning such valuable life skills! We love being part of such a friendly club that do their upmost to bring families together. Our little 7 year old wants a slice of the action now and is just counting down the months until she can join little nippers in October. We are truly grateful to Alkimos surf life saving club and can’t wait for an action packed, fun season McKeown Family |

Alkimos SLSC is a great welcoming family friendly club. There are plenty of exciting opportunities for children of all ages from nippers to youth cadets, to learn and develop invaluable water safety and lifesaving skills, in a fun and safe environment. We would definitely recommend this club to anybody interested in ocean safety and surf lifesaving. |

Alkimos Surf Life Saving Club is a fantastic club and a such supportive surf family! With my middle child involved in the Woodside Nippers program and my teenage son involved in the youth program; it has taught them both beach safety as well as how to be part of and the importance of contributing towards our community all while having fun. Needless to say, my youngest can’t wait to be officially involved! Katie Briant |
